Today is a big day for Primer.

We’re launching a new version of Primer that goes well beyond anything we’ve built before—and takes us a lot closer to the vision we had when we started.

Where we started

From day one, our mission has been to help great products get discovered.

We knew the first step was targeting. If the right people never see you, it doesn’t matter how good your product is. So we built a way for B2B marketers to reach their ideal customers across the channels where they actually spend time.

Over the last two and a half years, we’ve built a data foundation that helps marketers define their market, bring together their first-party data, and reach those buyers across Meta, Google, LinkedIn, and more. We’ve helped customers unlock channels they didn’t think would work for B2B and make the channels they already use more effective.

Reach your market on every channel where your buyers spend time.

The next problem

But getting an audience live has always been just one part of the job.

Marketers still have to figure out what to test, which buyers to pursue, why a campaign isn’t performing, whether it’s creating qualified pipeline, and where the next dollar should go.

And doing that well is hard. The answers are scattered across ad platforms, audience tools, website data, CRM records, and a bunch of spreadsheets. Each platform helps you optimize inside its own world. You’re left trying to piece together what’s actually best for your business.

Separate tools a B2B marketer works across: spreadsheets, web analytics, CRM records, ad platforms and email
The answers live in separate systems.

That’s the next problem we’re taking on.

Meet the new Primer

With the new Primer, you can research an opportunity, build and check an audience, investigate your campaigns, and understand how the people and companies you’re reaching are moving through the funnel.

Primer account research: an Ad Strategy Summary of how competitors win finance leaders, with 64 of their LinkedIn ads found
Research a market and see the ads your competitors are running.
Primer Audience Validation flagging a reach issue and an audience overlap, with a suggested adjustment approved and applied
Primer checks the audience and suggests fixes before you launch.

You can ask questions like:

  • “Why are we getting leads but not qualified opportunities?”
  • “Who’s converting that we’re not targeting?”
  • “What should we test next?”
  • “Where should we invest more—or less?”
Primer chat asking which campaigns deserve more investment, with the Campaign Investment Analysis report open alongside: the most efficient campaign may have room to scale
Ask a question in chat. Primer answers with a report you can act on.

Primer brings together your audience data, campaign performance, website activity, and revenue context to help you investigate those questions and decide what to do next.

The recent progress in AI has made it possible for us to take on this work much faster than we could have imagined a few years ago. But what makes the answers useful is the foundation underneath them: an understanding of your market, your buyers, your campaigns, and the outcomes that matter to your business.

Where we’re going

And answering questions is only the beginning.

Today, Primer can already help you move from an idea to a built and validated audience, or from a performance question to a better-informed next step. Over time, we want you to be able to hand Primer more of the work: setting up campaigns, monitoring what’s happening, and helping make adjustments as results come in.

You set the direction. Primer takes on more of the work of getting there.

I’m incredibly proud of what this team has built. Primer has evolved a lot over the last few years, but the mission has stayed the same: help great products get discovered and grow.

Today is a big step forward. And we’re just getting started.
