Bring your Clay data into Primer

Send the account lists, contacts and signals you build in Clay to Primer with Clay’s HTTP API action and Primer’s ingestion API. Primer turns them into audiences you can refine and activate across your advertising channels. Available in beta through the Primer API, on request.

What you can do

  • Send Clay-built account lists to Primer and reach the buying committee at each account
  • Push enriched contacts and use them as audiences or exclusions
  • Combine Clay records with Primer’s database and your CRM in one audience
  • Activate the audience on LinkedIn, Meta, Google and more, and measure what it drives

How to set it up

  1. Ask support@sayprimer.com to enable the Primer API, then create an API key
  2. In your Clay table, add an HTTP API action that posts each row to Primer’s Ingest People or Ingest Companies endpoint
  3. Run the action on the rows you want to send
  4. Build an audience from the dataset in Primer and activate it

Frequently asked questions

Does Primer read my Clay tables directly?

No. Clay pushes rows to Primer through its HTTP API action; Primer doesn’t pull from Clay.

What can I send from Clay?

People and companies, using the same fields as a CSV import, including the account lists and signals you’ve built in Clay.

Is the Clay connection generally available?

Not yet. It runs on the Primer API, which is in beta and opened on request. Contact support@sayprimer.com to get access.
